There are castles and churches everywhere. This is a castle we saw just after the big storm, standing guard over the city of Castrojeriz. The barista told me it was built by the Saracens, or the invading Turkish army. The book says it was an important point in the battle between the Christians and the Turks during the Crusades.
Who knows what the story is?? But it is an imposing presence over the valley below.
